3 lb chicken, cut into 8 serving pieces
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
8 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup dry white wine, or chicken broth
3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
add chicken pieces
combine all other ingredients and pour over chicken
cook on low 7-8 hours
serve over pasta or rice
