What a great Turkey! But now what do I do with all these leftovers so that they don't go to waste, yet I don't get bored with the turkey? Here are just a few ideas. Also, if you have any recipes that call for cooked chicken, you can always substitute turkey....unless you smoked it! Last time I let my husband smoke a turkey then he wanted pot pie. YUCK!!!!!
*CP* = can be made in the Crock Pot
Turkey Cassoulet *CP*
Chicken Hash (with turkey, obviously)
Easy Chicken (turkey) Enchiladas (warm up turkey a little first)
WOA!!! What a terrific resource of great recipes for leftovers! I can't WAIT to try that pot pie... I especially like it b/c it calls for fresh vegies, not canned/frozen. So many others I can't wait to try too... yhour King Ranch Chickenis one of my all-time faves and I'll bet it's just as delicious with turkey. THANK YOU dear Franny! Hope you have a fabul-o Thanksgiving!! Love, Patti
ReplyDeleteTurkey ruebens;rye bread butter one side,on the other side one slice each swiss cheese, 1 to 2 Tablespoon's thousand island dressing,3 to 4 sliced turkey,1 to 2 Tablespoon's coleslaw, heat and eat.
ReplyDeleteTurkey salad...make it like you would ham or chicken salad. We also make a turkey corn soup in which you put the carcass with the last bit of meat on it in a big pot, cover with water, add salt, pepper, onion and 5 beef bullion cubes. Simmer for 2 hours, take carcass out, pick meat off bones, and put back in pot, add 2 cans of corn and simmer another half hour. ....some add sliced boiled eggs to soup bowl before pouring soup. Its delicious and great for the freezer....for when you have someone home with a cold.
