Wild Rice Side Dish

2 - 6oz packages long grain and wild rice mix
3 Tblsp butter
1 yellow or sweet onion diced
8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c chicken broth or Marsala wine
salt and pepper to taste

prepare rice according to package directions
melt butter in large skillet
add onion and saute until golden brown
add mushrooms and saute until tender
add broth or wine and saute until most liquid is absorbed
stir onions and mushroom in to prepared rice

  1. This looks so awesome! We always have wild rice at Thanksgiving ... maybe it's time to dress it up a little! :)
